Kingdom Of ElisairThe Kingdom Of Elisair is both diverse and magical. It was formed by a group of travelers that were trying to escape persecution due to xenophobia, jealousy and religion. Where they came from, people thought that they were demons and devils sent to betray, trick and tempt them. This was farthest from the truth. They were just various different races on the planet, a minority of them. Plainly put, they were different. So, with the help of a simple human who was awakening to his powers, found a refuge that they could call their own and not have to worry about the petty wars and prejudices from where they came from. It is true that not all of them left, you might even be descendent from them yourself, for you see, the world that they cam from was that of Earth. The continent of Elisair is comprised of several different kingdoms, provinces, principalities and baronies. Each has their own way of doing things and different laws from one place to the next, but all pay allegiance to the throne in Elisair City. Currently the King of Elisair is that of Clisair Drayman, a person who himself left this world to get away from his trouble. He rules the varied kingdoms with his wife Mirra, a half dryad and daughter of the the man who helped to found the realm. The Elisairian KingdomsOf the varied kingdoms, Firinn is where our adventures begin. The other kingdoms are as follows: The Northern Isles, where the dwarven warriors and smiths live. The Many Isles where halflings and witches work and live in harmony and peace. The Eastern Kingdom from where most of the sea faring elves come from, though its population is diverse, just like most of the kingdoms. Ever-Oth, a forest kingdom of perpetual twilight where the Damphyri live, a race with vampire blood in their ancestry. The Western Wastes, where it is rumored that the race of Vulchians have impressive technological cities hidden high atop desert plateaus. Those are the main kingdoms, the rest are principalities and baronies that are directly under the control of the Elisairian Crown. Of special interest is that of Derquendoth, a vile and evil kingdom. It is ruled by another of this world by the name of Count Dimetry, the sworn enemy and rival of Clisair. Dimetry came to Elisair at about the same time that Clisair did. Both were welcomed at the court and both Mirra's suitors. Clisair eventually won the princess' heart and Dimetry went to Derquendoth and began his training under the dark god that the isle gets its name from. Since that time, Dimetry has been trying to steal the kingdom, the crown and Mirra from Clisair. Interestingly enough, Dimetry and Clisair look almost identical except for the color of their hair. Dimetry's is dark while Clisair's is is a sandy reddish blond. Ruler Of ElisairThe current and second ruler of Elisair is that of a man known as Clisair. He is not originally from the lands of Elisair, but from the lands where all the races of Elisair came from. He was a struggling musician who wen hiking one day in the hills and stumbled across a pathway that lead straight to the main palace in Elisair. It was there that his skill with magic and the martial arts were perfected and where he eventually fell in love with King Elisair's daughter Mirra. Gods Of ElisairThere are many gods in Elisair, though none really know where they came from or why they were worshipped. When the people first made the crossing, they were worshipping the old Celtic gods and goddesses, but they did not go with them when they left their homelands. Some believe that they were once mortal people or elves that had so surpassed their brothers that they just became gods. Even the gods themselves can not remember, except for maybe one, but he is an oddity anyway, so will not even mention him here. Even though the gods are sometimes at odds with each other and are trying to control each others territories, they still cooperate to some degree. Each has a seat on the council of gods and each has one vote on anything of importance. As to how often the council meets, it seems that the gods have only been able to have 3 successful meetings, most times no one shows up when a meeting is called and the reason for the meeting is quickly forgotten. As to the exact number of gods and goddesses in Elisair, that is hard to tell, but of the major ones, there are 14 of them and the last 4 are very new additions and one of them the gods just ignore, due to the fact that he is a god from another dimension entirely and just here to hang out and just be ignored. |
