City Of LintairThe city of Lintair is centuries old and has a culture and history all its own. For one, it is one of the few places in all of Elisair where there is an active thieves guilde that is openly operating with the full knowledge of the law. The guilde even has a charter from the city to conduct business and larceny if it sees fit. They even run and guard the main market for the city, it is even a tourist attraction. It may be fun to visit there, but make sure that you hold tightly to your purse or it just might go missing. Lintair has many different sections of the town, but it is basicly broken up into 6 different sectors, districts or areas. Those are as follows: Golden Square, Baronial Keep, West Docks, East Docks, Temple District and the Tavern Of Lamps. Each has its own flavor and charm. There are other areas outside and under the City, but they are not that important for this missive. Golden SquareThis area is, well.... Golden. It is where most of the nobles and the well to do live and work. It has lush mansions, guardens and interesting shops and stores where you can find just about anything. Find anything, that is, if the price is right. Wehn visiting Lintair, make sure you go check out all the sno... I mean nobles and see just what makes them all so Golden Baronal KeepThis area is where you will find the bank, the note maker and the temple of Equelentair, what a mouthful and just as full of himself. You will also find the guarison for the City Watch and the main administrative keep as well. Best check it out as you can find some decent work right there. There is a building that is rumored to be for the Knights Of Elisair in this same area, but it is always locked tight and rumored that any one not a member is instantly thrown into the dungeons of the Baronial Keep with no way out but a Knight to come and fetch them. Temple DistrictHere you will find most of the temple to the gods of Elisair, most but not all. There are temples to Aqualontair, the water goddes; Temple to Meklor, supposedly an evil god, but more like a lawyer; Temple to Quentara, the goddes of the cosmos, hearth and home and loose women. It is also a brothel and gambling house, can you believe that. There is a temple to Tequensair, the god or goddess of the winds, seems they can not make up thier mind about it. There is a temple to Tennor who is the god of the woods and patron of bards. It is a huge tree with a house sticking out of it. Temples are not the only thing to find here, you can also find one of the best smiths I have come to find, other then may Vifir out in West Docks. Another curious place is that of the Music hous that has just about any kind of instrument that you might be looking for. Just ask the satir what you are looking for and I bet he will have it in stock. West DocksThis is really the main commerce center of the town. There is a huge open air market with just about anything you would want. There is a cobbler, trapper, food merchent, archer, boyer and leather crafter. There are other shops as well, there is the Kurisa's Exports, for the exotic. You can also find a gem merchant, he always has work, the magic store as well as the thieves guilde. It is also rumored that late at knight there is some undead skelleton that has a shop somewhere in west docks as well who will give great prices for anything that you might want to sell, as long as he has the funds to buy it. East DocksEast docks is a bit more laid back in is dealings with others. There you will find the main watch tower for the city as well as several crafting centers for clothing, wood and mettle works. Here you will also find Vifir, a master dwarven smith that has some of the best blades around, so check him out when you get into town. You will also find the dye merchant and Beleron, the pawn broaker. He doesn't always give the best prices, but he never runs out of money and he has a delivery service as well. Tavern Of LampsThe famed Tavern Of Lamps sits right between East and West Docks and is where most people go for a good time when they are not going to Quentara's. This tavern is also where the famous Adrian the Bard got her start after she finished her studies with the King. Sometimes when you go there, you might even see here there playing. The tavern is run by a burly ex-palace guard from Elisair City named Telgar. It is in that city where Adrian first met the owner of the Lamp. One of the bards of note discripbed the tavern in one of the best ways and I quote it here now ....Going inside was to step into another world entirely different than that of the one outside. Its low ceiling and diverse lamps were at first unsettling, and the noise deafening. The smoke from the lamp oil hung in the air like a sorcerer's mist, churning and boiling about. Just the slightest movement would change the swirling patterns in the smoke, and this view mesmerized all who entered. The main hall was grand, yet small enough to seem cozy. Several tables were haphazardly placed, causing the serving wenches to brush almost very customer with their hips as they passed by. Two exquisitely-carved fireplaces were at each end of the common room, warming all as they dreamed of adventures yet to be had and memories of those already done. People from all races came to tell tales and to listen to conquests of glory as they drank away their pain or happiness. The place was alive, with passion and revelry.... Lintair FarmsAll around the city of Lintair are vast farmlands where you can find just about anything growing to keep the city going. Various fruit bearing trees and hard and soft woods that are perfect for crafting. Cotton, alow, ginger and gensin grow abundently for those that make curitives and such. There is always something to do in the City of Lintair, so come on in and check it all out and make your own fortune and fame. |
